Week 3 - 7 pounds!!!

3 Weeks have gone by and we are ready to begin week 4.
At the end of week 4 we will be redoing all the measurements so we will know inches lost, strength gained, etc.. I have to congratulate my Dad on not missing a single weekly goal yet. I actually don't mind if we miss one afterall we are human. This week is going to be a great test of the program. Ed will be travelling all week on business. His workout's will be in hotel rooms and the temptation of food will definitely be there. About
Food:
I have not been to strict on the food intake portion of our training. Alot of people try to get the diet working first and then try to throw in the exercise. I believe, and thankfully this is backed up by piles and piles of studies, that the key to successful weight loss is in the exercise. Don't get me wrong the eating habits usually have to shift a little. Just a couple healthy choices not a radical spinach and tuna diet. By increasing the exercise the body is burning more calories than it did before. If the diet stays exactly the same (from a maintainance level) the body will lose weight. It is a LAW of science. By making a couple smart decisions during the day for food (or mostly avoiding flying off the handle) the diet can actually be decreased. When this comes together with the exercise, it becomes consistent and predictable weight loss.
